FAQs
Measure your dog's neck and chest to select the appropriate size for this puppy harness or non restrictive safe dog harness suitable for smaller breeds. Refer to the size guide on each product page for accurate sizing. You may notice overlap between harness sizes in our size guide; this is designed to accommodate a diverse range of breeds and sizes. If for example, your dog's neck measurement falls across multiple sizes while the chest measurement aligns with just one or vice versa, it’s always best to size up.
Hand-wash the Halti Anatomy Harness with mild detergent and allow it to air dry. To maintain the harness's longevity, avoid machine washing.

Puppy: Exercise for puppies should be carefully monitored due to their developing growth plates, which are soft and prone to injury until about 12-18 months of age for most breeds (and up to 24 months for giant breeds). There is no definitive rule for the amount of exercise a puppy needs. Some people follow the '5 minutes of exercise per month of age' guidelines, but evidence supporting this rule is lacking. The appropriate amount of exercise depends on your individual puppy. We always recommend consulting your vet for personalised advice.
Daily exercise is essential and should be part of the routine for all puppies. However, it should be low-impact and controlled. Focus on the type of activity you puppy engages in and avoid repetitive, high-impact activities such as:
Jumping, including on and off furniture, out of cars, or from heights
Sharp turns
Climbing stairs
High concussive activities like chasing balls or sticks at high speeds
Playing on slippery surfaces and floors
Monitor your puppy for signs of excessive tiredness or lameness. Normal puppy play is important and natural, as it helps in the development of muscles, tendons, ligaments, bone, cartilage strength, coordination, and proprioception. Ensure play occurs on non-slip surfaces and monitor puppies within a multi-dog household when playing and interacting with other dogs.
If your puppy has outgrown the Halti Anatomy Puppy Harness, consider the Halti Anatomy Harness. While the design is slightly different, it is a safe dog harness for large puppies that have outgrown the puppy harness.
Puppies have delicate, developing bodies that are constantly changing. Using the Halti Anatomy Puppy Harness instead of a collar prevents pressure on your puppies sensitive neck, protecting delicate areas like the trachea, ensuring comfort and freedom of movement. The Anatomy Puppy Harness provides a gentle introduction to wearing a harness, making the transition to an adult harness smoother.
Puppies grow quickly and change shape frequently. We recommend checking the fit of their harness weekly, to ensure it’s not too tight and causing discomfort. Once all adjustment options are exhausted, it’s time to size up to a larger non restrictive dog harness or transition to the Halti Anatomy Harness.
