Pet Corrector
Pet Corrector® spray
All dogs have their good and bad days. But with Pet Corrector, you can get back to what really matters… enjoying life with your pet. Inspired by nature, using a pet corrector spray quickly and simply distracts your dog from unwanted behaviours like barking, jumping up, being aggressive, place avoidance or stealing food, it can also help defend you and your dog from other dog attacks.
Stops unwanted behaviour
Whether you’re struggling with barking, jumping up, bad house manners or aggression, Pet Corrector provides a distraction that enables you to retrain and reward your pooch. Loved by millions of owners around the world, Pet Corrector helps you put a stop to bad behaviour.
Inspired by nature
Created by renowned dog behavioural expert Dr. Roger Mugford, the Pet Corrector Spray uses compressed air to mimic the natural warning hiss that swans and other animals make. When used as part of Dr Roger’s tried and tested W.A.G. training technique, you can disrupt the unwanted behaviour, giving you the opportunity to teach your dog the rules of the house.
Simple to use
When you witness bad behaviour, act immediately and give one short burst. Remember to direct the can away from your dog as they only need to hear the noise. When your dog stops the unwanted behaviour, give them a command (e.g. quiet) and reward them, either with lots of praise or a tasty treat.
New & improved design
The new built-in safety cap gives more accurate activation, so it’s more reliable and no longer requires an additional safety lid, so it’s quicker to interrupt those unwanted behaviours. The new cap also features a safety seal to ensure the product reaches you in perfect condition. A firm press is required on first use to break the seal, once broken the product will disperse as required.
How To Use The Pet Corrector
FAQs
Pet Corrector can be used to interrupt many unwanted doggy behaviours but is most often used for: barking, jumping up, stealing food, chasing, aggression and place avoidance.
While most of our customers use the Pet Corrector to train their dogs, it can also be very effective on other animals including cats. Just make sure you test the sensitivity of your pet first by using Pet Corrector at least 3 metres away to begin with.
Using the Pet Corrector is easy with our W.A.G. process. Witness: When you witness bad behaviour… Act: Use the Pet Corrector (away from your dog) to distract them, then… Give: Give your dog a command and then reward.
We don’t recommend using the Pet Corrector on young puppies. We believe that at an early age, rewarding positive behaviour should be the focus of puppy training, rather than trying to deter the not-so-good behaviours.
While the Pet Corrector is fine to use on most dogs, we recommend doing a test to check your dog’s sensitivity. Do this by testing a short one second burst of Pet Corrector at least 3 metres away from your dog. If they show any signs of distress, then discontinue use. We don’t recommend using the Pet Corrector on anxious dogs or puppies.
When used correctly as part of our W.A.G. process, the Pet Corrector can permanently change pet behaviour in which case continued use is unnecessary. But remember, the Pet Corrector is not a punishment, it’s a training tool and it should always be followed with a reward.
Whilst it is recommended that all family members are involved with training, it’s important that Pet Corrector is used responsibly. Therefore, we do not recommend that children use Pet Corrector.
Pet Corrector should be used in short, one-second bursts, at a distance of at least one metre from your pet. Remember to always point the can away from your pet’s face. Do not press the button continuously or hold the can upside-down.
If used correctly in short, one-second bursts, you will get approximately the following number of uses out of each can: 30ml = 30 bursts/uses, 50ml = 50 bursts/uses and 200ml = 200 bursts/uses.
At Company of Animals, we are constantly striving to improve the effectiveness of our products and how they work. Whilst the previous cap has worked well for many years, we felt some areas could be improved upon. We wanted to create a new design that does not require an additional safety cap, so it is safer and quicker to use.
The new cap is safer and quicker to use. It features a safety seal to ensure the product reaches you in perfect condition and is not accidentally activated. Activation is also more precise and controlled.
For first use, a firm press is required to break the safety seal, once broken you can use it as normal. If you find it hard to press, we recommend you press towards the back of the button, (the lowest point) as far away from the open side as possible. You may need to place it on a flat surface and use your thumb to break the seal. If after these recommendations you still have issues pressing the can, please get in touch with our Customer Services department office@wearecoa.com for further help and guidance.
